Report turtle sightings, important nesting areas, and roadkill hotspots.

In 2006, the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program and the Turtle Conservation Project launched TurtleAtlas.org, to track unusual occurrences of all species of turtle throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

TurtleAtlas has been expanded to record three types of information:

  1. 1.Turtle Sightings. Report observations of single turtles using the new Massachusetts Herp Atlas Site

  2. 2.Nesting Areas. Report important turtle nesting areas (where multiple turtles nest each year)

  3. 3.Roadkill Hotspots. Report locations where multiple turtles are killed on the road.
